When is the Boilermaker?

The Boilermaker is always the second Sunday in July. This year, it falls on Sunday, July 13, 2008. The 15K starts at 8:00 am, the wheelchair division at 7:45 am and the 5K Run at 7:30 am.

What is the owner chip number listed on the registration?

Some people own their own ChampionChips for timed races. If you don’t have your own chip, you can ignore the Owner Chip No. check box on the registration form.

How can I find out if I am registered?

Go to www.boilermaker.com and click on registration verification. Then click on the event that you registered for. Please note that if you registered with a paper application, it could take several days for confirmation.

What do I do if I entered incorrect information on my registration?

Email pat@leonetiming.com. Include your registration tracking number and describe the registration error. You will receive an email response.

What do I do if I registered for the wrong event?

Notify the Boilermaker at (315) 797-5838. Tell us which event you registered for, which event you want to register for, and how you would like to pay the difference. The change will be made when the payment is processed.

Will I receive a verification card?

No. We don’t send verification cards. Just bring a photo ID when you pick up your packet.

Can someone else pick up my packet?

Yes. But he/she must present a letter from you authorizing them to do so along with a copy of your photo ID.

How do I get my packet?

Packet pick up is at the Health & Fitness Expo on Friday, July 11 from 12:00 pm to 7:00 pm and Saturday, July 12 from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm.

Where is packet pick up?

The Health & Fitness Expo is on The Masonic Care Community grounds, 2150 Bleecker Street, Utica, New York.

Can I pick up my packet on race day?

We strongly discourage race day packet pick up. However, we do allow 15K runners who only are in town for the day to pick them up before the race at ECR International at the start line from 6:00 am to 7:30 am.

If I am not able to run can I transfer my number or get a refund?

For safety reasons, we do not allow numbers to be transferred. If anyone is caught transferring numbers, they will be banned from registering from future Boilermaker events. Our policy is to not refund registration fees, but we realize that unique situations do arise. If you feel your situation warrants a refund, contact racedirector@boilermaker.com.

Do I get a Boilermaker t-shirt if I run?

Our runners receive a goody bag which includes a Boilermaker pint glass. A full clothing line, including t-shirts, is available for purchase at www.boilermaker.com and at the CDPHP Health and Fitness Expo.

Can I walk the Boilermaker 15K?

No, we do not allow any walkers in the 15K. Anyone interested in walking can register for the 3 Mile Walk on Saturday, July 12.

Can I walk the 5K?

No, we do not allow walkers in the 5K. Anyone interested in walking can register for the 3 Mile Walk on Saturday, July 12.

How much time do I have to complete the 15K?

We encourage all runners to complete the 15K in two hours. After two hours, the streets open to traffic.

How much time do I have to complete the 5K?

We encourage our runners to finish the 5K in 45 minutes in order to clear the course for the wheelchair racers.

Can I have a stroller or my pet in the race?

No strollers or pets are allowed in the race. However, strollers are allowed in the 3 Mile Walk, which is a great family event.

Which hotel is closest to the start line?

Our official hotel, the Radisson Utica Centre, is closest to the start line.

Can I walk to the start from any of the hotels?

It is approximately two miles to the start line from the closest hotels.

Can I walk from any of the hotels to the finish line?

Yes, both the Radisson Hotel Utica Centre and the Hotel Utica are within 0.3 mile from the finish.

Where can I park for the race?

There is some parking near the start line in the area surrounding ECR International and near the finish line and the F.X. Matt Brewing Company.

Are there shuttles available?

Yes. Shuttle buses will transport runners only to the start line beginning from 6:00 am to 7:15 am. Pick up locations are:

1) Near the Finish Line at the corner of Court Street and State Street (near Sabatino’s Pizza & Deli)

2) Near the rear of the Post Race Party area on Whitesboro Street. Shuttles will also be available from the Post Race Party on Whitesboro Street to the start line until 1:00 pm. Please arrive early to use this shuttle bus service.

Can anyone ride the shuttle?

No. Shuttle buses are reserved for Boilermaker runners.
